I learnt alot about many different online applications and learnt more about the ones I already use. It has opened up my eyes to how we can utilise these tools at work to communicate better and work efficiently in our areas. The only negative I have is the time.. not nearly enough time was allocated. We were told 15 minutes a day.. that is how long at minium it took to read all about the exercise and have a look at the video let alone have a play and then blog about it. Along with a busy work schedhule it was a bit difficult to fit it all in.. but i got there in the end and am glad! If parents could register a mobile number then text messages could be sent out to remind parents of the date and time of the acitivity to avoid “no shows” and allow other people to join the acitvity who are on the waiting list. I can see how it is a great tool, saves all the hassel of visiting a million different sites, you can have them all on the one feed page. To me Learning 2.0 was an opportunity to familarise myself with different applications within web 2.0 and how i could utilise them in not only my working life but outside of work also. There were many things i have never heard of before and some i was already familar with. I think it is a great learning tool for an organisation that is looking for different and better ways of communicating and organising within their work or home life. I can’t believe i didnt know this existed until now! Would be so useful when travelling or even for uni students, saves having to use a usb all the time!! Does somebody monitor it? This isnt just a fad that this generation is currently experiencing, social media is growing bigger and bigger and better everyday. Not only for the generation Y’s but for gen X and even baby boomers. My own mother and aunty regulary get on Facebook and my grandma is even gettin up to speed with instant messaging! This definetly isnt a fad!
